My Māori Adventure! 😜

Kia Ora! Ko Honey Toku Ingoa :).  Welcome back to my blog! So you probably know it was Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori a long time ago, (I forgot to post it). And I think that it's a really amazing week so our teachers gave us the task of making a Māori animation that kind of tells or shows us some Māori words for items or things that we can see in our everyday life. 

This was very fun and I created it with one of my friends Tilly! It shows us at the swimming pool and having fun learning maori words. I hope you enjoy it :).

French....*Warning CRINGE*🥖🥐🍞

 Bonjour Bloggers! So today we started to learn the basics of french! This video is pretty....actually VERY cringy and I forgot lines and even forgot the camera was on! There are a lot of mistakes in this so please just beware. 

This was a fun task and I enjoyed having fun and learning with my friends. This task reminded me of this time when me and my cousin Gaia were in the museum and we had a challenge where we had to talk french for the whole day. I am pretty confident with a small portion of french. I hope you enjoy the video and um possibly learn something.

Hello everyone! Today's post is a really fun but hard literacy task...we had to create a pick a path story on google forms. I have to say it took a lot of effort and time but In the end, I'm very proud. At first, when writing the story I was really stumped! But then I just used my imagination to come up with a really kind of strange fantasy story. I did use quite a few typical cliches that you can normally find in fantasy, so we'll see if you can spot them! Bedmas...with my brother!?😅

 Hello everyone! Were back at level 3! So here is my weekly blog post and it was a really fun maths task we had to do. We had to create a video explaining what is bedmas since that's what we have been learning about this week. I really enjoy doing bedmas equations but I enjoyed doing this video even more! Next time you see plastic in the water..👀

 Hey guys! So here is another blog post for today! And it's about what happens when we litter and it gets into our oceans. I found this extremely interesting, kind of gruesome, and definitely shocking! Have you ever seen a piece of rubbish on the beach or even in the water? Today I made an animation on what happens when our rubbish gets into our oceans. It was an inquiry task and I really enjoyed doing it! 

I hope you found this as interesting as I did. It reminded me of all the times I saw rubbish at the beach. If you saw some rubbish even if It wasn't yours would you pick it up? I would! I hope you enjoyed this animation and I'm sure I won't be having fish any time soon! 

Fantastic Fantasy!📜

 Kia Ora everyone! Yesterday we learned about the fantasy genre! Fantasy has to be one of my favourite genres of all time because you can really use your imagination and just explore! Also, I'm really fascinated by mythical creatures! So this task was quite fun and It also was kind of hard. We had to name all the cliches in a fantasy book, I chose Harry Potter because it's a series of books I have already read and It also consists of so many cliches.  The second part of this task was coming up with a whole new Harry Potter character!? It was really really hard because Harry Potter is already so packed with information and it's quite perfect already. The aim of creating this character is to for him/her to have an impact on the story and mine certainly did! Here is my work!

WHO WILL WIN!?😬

 Hey guys! Welcome back to my blog, so on Wednesday Mr Shaw's literacy group was given the task of dressing up as Alien a Sci-fi villain, or just something extremely weird! It was a lot of fun. When I first heard the task I was like OH NO! Because It was going to be so embarrassing. And to be honest it kind of was...I got my inspiration for the outfit from looking in the fridge and seeing a carton of eggs. The most enjoyable part was when we were taking the picture and about every time we were about to take the photo I started laughing! And then my least favorite part was actually putting the photo on the slide for everyone to see. Have you ever turned yourself into an alien? If you did what would your name be? Mine was Weird Alien Creature! It was a really fun task and every day we learn about a new genre, today was Sci-Fi. Anyway here is the picture! 

Well umm....did you laugh? It's pretty hard not to with my face like that! Who do you think will win?

I'm never gonna go in a lake AGAIN! 🛶

 Are you in lockdown too? Kia ora. Well, the Corona virus is back! But this time worse...I am stuck at home AGAIN!!! I really don't enjoy distance learning, because I love my friends and teachers and I just don't like being stuck at home and really just flopping on the couch. So today my literacy distance learning task was to create a ghost horror story that showcases some of the genre conventions. This was really fun for me and I enjoyed being imaginative. It reminded me of the ghost stories my nanny has told me...some of them are not as scary as others...anyway, my story is called Row Boat and I really hope you enjoy reading it.

 If you auditioned for a part who would you want to be? Hello Bloggers! I just did one of the most exciting things I have ever done in my entire life! I performed in front of over 100 people! I am really proud of what I did and to be honest, I wouldn't be as confident as I am now if I didn't do the production! I also want to shout out to Mrs. Osborn, Mrs. Davis, Miss Smith, and Roberts for basically organizing and doing EVERYTHING for everyone! It was really fun and amazing so thank you! Doing this made me feel really amazing inside and It gave me confidence in myself for once! Everyone who auditioned was so brave and everyone was amazing too! I was in cast Rua, there are two casts Tahi and Rua, we performed on 2 different nights each.  Here are some photos I hope you enjoy! We had so much fun together and I'm really sad to see it go! I made so many good friends and even talked to people I would never talk to if they were not in production. I just want to say one thing....Give everything a red hot go!

The Other Side..😏

 So this week for art we made a really awesome piece of art.  We drew one side a happy ocean scene and the other an ocean full of plastic and dead coral. It looked pretty awesome and I loved doing it a lot. My favorite part probably was the coloring in because that just brings the whole scene to life. When drawing the fish it reminded me of my own fish, so I also included them. My fish are 3 female Bettas called Crystal, Xena, and Lunar. I loved this task because I know so much about it and I really enjoy learning about the subject and how we can help our ocean environments.  Here are a few pictures!

The volume is 240cm3....What are the sides? 🤔

Hello Bloggers! Welcome back to another math adventure! Today I did a task with Flynn and AJ. 

We were challenged with the task of making a 240cm3 volume shape. The formula consisted of 3 x 8 x 10. 

It was 3 length, 8 width, and 10 height...Unfortunately, we had a bit of a failure with the 3 length and sadly ended up with 2.5 instead.  Everyone came up with such amazing, exciting shapes. Here are some professionally modeled photos of our creation. P.S ( we decided to design it to look a bit like central perk from friends).  Have you ever created a 3D object? Why so many books!?😧

 Hey everyone! Welcome back to my blog! 

Today we were given a STEAM challenge! We had to work in groups of 5 to accomplish it. And we were only given 10 pieces of paper and 1m of tape!?

The challenge we had to face was to create a table of some sort that could hold a certain book. It was hard...but every team created...something...My team ( LP, Alexie, Tilly, Ava, and Me ) created a BOX. Not just any box, the Jaguars box ( Tilly came up with the name). I think it when pretty well. Next time I would maybe make a different structure to experiment with the different ways you could achieve the task.  Have you ever done something like this? I'm Gonna Poke Ya 😨!

So welcome back to another SCIENCE experiment! Me and my buddy Tilly experimented on what parts of the body we can feel when we poke it with a sharp object. It hurt.....Basically, we started to learn about the senses. We first started off by watching a video on Sensation and Perception. Perception is the way you see things and how you interpret them. The sensation is the signal that is being sent to the brain. So if you think about it we just see what our brain tells us we can see, there could even be things there that our brain can see but it's telling us that we can't see it?!

Ok about the experiment we got given a sheet that had 9 parts of the body we could poke. We poked each part 3 times and we also changed the length apart from the stabby thing every 3 times we poked each part of the body. The most painful spots were behind the knee and the sole of the foot. 

Here is my sheet. It was in Te Reo Maori but the other side was English. It sometimes hurt when you got pricked but not just that also sometimes in a different place you could get confused whether there were two points or one. As the stabby thing was further apart the more accurate whether it was the right point. It was actually a very fun activity and I would recommend trying this out with a friend or family member because you get to poke them when they are wearing a blindfold! It was weird how sometimes you got confused whether it was one point or two but as always it was two every time.

Magical Matariki 🌠!

 Kia Ora everyone! 

Welcome back to my blog! So its nearly Matariki and our class decided to make Matariki art.

Here is mine, I really enjoyed this activity! 

Are you celebrating Matariki? Now if you want to make one of these of your own here are the instructions. 

1. Draw your design on a spare piece of paper ( With the stars you must make sure to draw them on the opposite side and possibly way than mine because if you don't it will not end up like mine and it will be the wrong way round) 
2. Draw it again on a piece of foam (make sure to have a bit of pressure)
3. Have a roller of paint and then paint of two colors ( or more)
4. Put a piece of paper over your wet design ( Make sure to add some pressure so it sticks)
5. Take the paper off and add your name so you don't get mixed up
6. Rinse the foam under a tap ( so all the paint is off)
7. Get a paper towel and dry it so you can have another go 
8. Do it as many times as you want!
9. Get a piece of card and cut out an even frame
10. Put the picture in the frame and cut off any extra paper hanging out the side
11. Glue it all together
12. Add your signature down the bottom
13. BOOM DONE!

I think the Matariki art is so beautiful and I really hope you decide to give it a try! I decided to add a river in my picture and you probably can't see the rocks that I added. I really liked the idea of a river because I thought it looked really beautiful, The mountains are also based on Aoraki ( Mount Cook ).  I am really proud of my work and I think it looks super cool! Jimmy the egg has a crash landing🥚🔥

 Hey guys! Welcome to my blog! So today I have a cool little STEAM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math)  experiment that my class tried. 

We had to make an egg or Jimmy ( We called our egg that) not die! Me and my 4 other friends created our very own capsule and then we threw it off a 3-meter drop. The aim of this experiment was to not let Jimmy die and make sure he has no cracks at all. I made a review of this experiment, I hope you enjoy it!

 Hi, guys welcome back! So I want to say happy late Easter🥳🎉. How was your holiday? Did you go on holiday? Did you accomplish anything your proud of? I'm proud of myself because I finished my first science badge! 

Onto the Art! Some of the things you can look out for in my art are hidden faces I have 2. One is an Among Us character and the other you will only know if you find it...Some of the colours I used were mostly Analogous colours but some were Complimentary. Mine was not quite the correct style of Hundertwasser and I actually had to redo it but this is the redone version.  I really don't like mine that much but yeah what's done is done. Here it is.

 So I made a weather animation on scratch and it turned out a bit weird let's say.

This was an enjoyable task because I kinda mucked around with the funny characters and all.

David the English settler 😎

 Hey everyone this is DAVID!

So a couple days ago we started to learn about the Treaty O Waitangi .The task I had to start on writing was a script in the point of view of a English Settler or Maori and then turn it into a Voki video.

I chose English just because not many people understand there view of the Treaty O Waitangi. 

When I did this it made me think hard about what they where thinking and if they were like, 

 "OMG I JUST TOOK ALL OF MAORI'S LAND YAY!"  and instead were like

 " I don't know why the Maori hate us?". So which one do you think is more accurate? 

It was a hard task and I enjoyed it a lot, have you ever created a video with Voki?

Im so sorry if the sound is bad and it was very noisy to film, I did try to get my friends to be quiet but of course no on listens to me -_-.

Favourite Camp Memory: 2021

Hey Everyone! Welcome back to Honeys Blog! 

So I am in school now, and on the 2ND day of school we got on a bus and went to camp! It was a very full on 2nd day :l. 

We went to Wainui camp and let me say....AWESOME!!! Have you gone on camp yet? If you did where did you go? 

This video shows probably my favourite most funny memory from camp. Well actually probably not funniest because the funniest moment was when one of my best friends fell of her kayak and it drifted really far away :D.
